Teacher:
Loretta Beacock
My name is Loretta Beacock, and I’m from Kawacatoose First Nation. I have been an educator for over 20 years. I graduated from the I.T.E.P. at University of Saskatchewan; with a Bachelor of Education in 2003.
I have dedicated my education career on all First Nation Communities, starting at Pelican Narrows First Nation (5 yrs), Cote First Nation (1 yr), Kahkewistahaw First Nation (4 yrs), Kawacatoose First Nation (1 yr), Cowessess First Nation (7 yrs), Xia Xais (Klemtu) First nation, B.C. (4 yrs) and White Bear Education Complex (1 yr). I have found in all communities, have distinct values, unique culture, and language in the school system. These communities have encouraged me to continue to educate First Nation youth. I have always said,” That an educator must stay in a community for a few years, to know and understand the students, parents, and community”. |
